Problem

VU Amsterdam recognized a growing challenge—preparing their project managers for an AI-driven future where adaptability and new skills would be critical. With rapid advancements in technology, they needed more than just a surface-level assessment of current competencies. They wanted a solution that could not only evaluate where their team stood today but also pinpoint gaps and build a roadmap for future growth.

Traditional assessment methods felt outdated—too static and disconnected from real-world scenarios. What they needed was something more dynamic—an interactive and engaging approach that could transform their existing frameworks into practical, skill-building simulations. The goal was clear: empower their project managers to stay ahead of the curve by blending evaluation with preparation for the demands of tomorrow’s workplace

Solution

Radius AI partnered with VU Amsterdam to build a tailored solution based on the 56 foundational skills framework sourced from McKinsey & Company. This framework, organized into 13 skill groups across four categories—cognitive, interpersonal, self-leadership, and digital—formed the foundation of the assessment metrics.

Radius team transformed this framework into interactive simulations powered by AI virtual employees. These simulations provided real-world scenarios to assess skills in action, ensuring candidates experienced a dynamic and engaging evaluation process.

Outcome

VU Amsterdam gained strategic insights into skill gaps and development needs. The project managers of VU not only identified areas for growth but also received targeted recommendations, equipping them with future-proof skills.
